I had a lovely stay at the Alendale, which strikes a good balance between luxury and value. The location is convenient-just a 10-minute stroll from the train station and a stone's throw from the beach. The room was spotlessly clean and comfortable, equipped with a flat-screen TV and all the necessary conveniences, including free Wi-Fi and an electric kettle. What really stood out were Jaimie and Nicola, the hosts. They made our family feel genuinely welcomed and shared great local tips. The breakfast was freshly cooked to order, allowing us to pick our choices the night before, which ensured everything arrived hot and delicious. I appreciated the guesthouse's commitment to being environmentally friendly. Plus, there's ample parking, which is a definite perk in tight spots. While it may not have the frills of a luxury resort, the thoughtful touches and the homey vibe certainly make it a smart choice for value-seekers. For informal fun and relaxation, the Alendale delivers without breaking the bank. I can see why some guests return year after year.
